Set in the heart of Bayswater and only a stone’s throw from Hyde Park, the Mitre is a beautiful grade II listed building from the 1850’s, serving a fantastic range of drinks and fresh, seasonal British food.

Old Mary's Cocktail Bar

Located below the pub our basement holds our not so secret cocktail bar, housed in a Dickensian warren of rooms and corridors, which takes its name, slightly ghoulishly, from the resident ghost a former mistress of the building’s one-time owner Lord Craven, who was found murdered in the scullery.

Welcome to the Mitre Lancaster Gate. We are a beautiful grade II listed building, perfectly located in the heart of Bayswater, just a stone’s throw from Hyde Park. Having retained most of our original features that make us a fine example of a traditional English pub.

Our kitchen proudly offers seasonal British food, from the well-loved classics to more contemporary plates and mouth-watering Sunday roasts. Our bar offers a great selection of drinks, from traditional real ales to beers from around the world and a fantastic selection of wines to match every palate.
